Crystal Mantecón, a native of Dallas, Texas attended High School for the Performing and Visual Arts as a Vocal Major. There she won awards at Jazz festivals across the country, and performed locally in plays, including the internally complex lead role in the acclaimed play Why We Have a Body written by Claire Chafee. A strong command of her craft coupled with a unique beauty that comes from her Mexican and Cuban ancestry got a local talent agent’s attention. Her talent and diverse look gifted her opportunities to work with many Oscar Nominated actors, with projects in the works her star is rising at a fast pace with no signs of letting up.

4. What did you like most about growing up in Dallas?
It’s home. It has all the best aspects of being a big city, but in some ways it feels like a small town. People are neighborly and friendly. Plus, everything IS bigger in Texas. I jest. 😉
5. What kind of mischief did you into while growing up?
Mischief? Ha Ha! Wouldn’t you like to know?!
6. What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done?
I’m just crazy. Nuff said.
7. What brought you to LA?
I can try to explain what prompted me to move to Los Angeles, but the truth is that it just happened when the time was right. Doors were opening in my career as an actress, and I walked through.
8. What’s your favorite hobby and why?
I have many hobbies, and keep picking up more as I go. I’m a crafts junkie, I think. I always keep going back to jewelry making though so maybe that’s my favorite. I’m very fond of my jewelry pieces. I get lost in creating something tangible… something to contribute both functionally and aesthetically.
9. What’s your guilty pleasure?
Dark chocolate.

To buy my mother a house.
